Four internationally-recognized musicians join forces to premiere Michael Brown's Garden Quartet, a new work for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano. Commissioned by Chloe Kramer in memory of her late husband, Alan, this piece is written and inspired by the Desert Botanical, Wave Hill, and Longwood Gardens. Each movement of the work is written specifically to reflect the individual nature and characteristics of each of these gardens. The quartet of musicians also teams up in different combinations to perform music by Debussy, Fauré, Messiaen, and Klezmer-inspired arrangements.
A coffee reception and opportunity to meet the artists follows the performance.
This performance was formerly titled Brown-Urioste-Canellakis Trio.
